The aim of this site is to collect problems, solutions, and practical examples for AWK programmers.
When completed, this website will contains a unique and extensive collection of best practices for everyday AWK programming dilemmas.
Our goal is 200+ recipes, ranging from simple tasks to entire programs that demonstrate complex tasks, such as printing HTML tables and generating bar charts.
Hopefully, this will become a treasure trove of useful code for AWK programmers, from novices to advanced practitioners.
For now, this site is a honeypot looking for worker bees. If you want to get involved in writing the AWK cookbook, browse the site map (left hand side) looking for entries that you want to write. Then contact us to get instructions on the format of the entries, how to test/review them, where to upload your contribution, etc etc.
We look forward to your contribution!
